Gujarat to host international education conference with focus on NEP 2020 on Jan 5-6

 

Panellists in different sessions will hold discussions on "holistic education" and "internationalization of education," and technical sessions will be held on research and innovation, skill development, employment etc,


A two-day international conference of academic institutions will be organised here on January 5-6 in the run-up to the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, with a focus on the implementation of the National Education Policy, 2020.

The conference will aim to “effectively clarify the way to strengthen the relationship of industries, academia and students by explaining the roadmap for National Education Policy, 2020,” Gujarat Education Minister Jitu Vaghani said.

Speaking to reporters at Science City in Ahmedabad, where the conference will be organized, Vaghani said around 120 panel speakers, including 40 from abroad, will share their experiences across 21 different sessions.

Gujarat is all set to adopt the NEP 2020, and leading experts and delegates from the education sector, research institutes, professionals, and educationists will throw light on its role in primary, secondary, higher and technical education, he said, adding that academic institutions of international repute will provide a platform to realise the vision of the new policy.

“Australia, Canada, Norway, UK and France will join as partner countries for the international conference. The British Council, the Australia India Business Exchange, Institute of International Education etc have joined as international participants,” Vaghani said.

“Central organizations like the NITI Aayog, Skill India, National Skill Development Corporation, University Grants Commission, All India Council for Technical Education, National Council of Educational Research and Training, and National Board of Accreditation have joined as well,” he added.

He said the conference will also focus on skill development and entrepreneurship, while the impact of COVID-19 on school education, challenges, and how to overcome them will be discussed. There would be a session on the Indian knowledge system as well as a unique session on Sanskrit, he said.

“The conference will build a strong link between national and international educational institutions, and the interdisciplinary discussions to be held there will include the exchange of knowledge among participants on approaches, methods and tools for the implementation of NEP, 2020,” said a release on the event.

Panellists in different sessions will hold discussions on “holistic education” and “internationalization of education,” and technical sessions will be held on research and innovation, skill development, employment etc, the release added.

Vice-Chancellors of universities from India and abroad will share their experiences on skill development and entrepreneurship, and discussions will be held on the country’s roadmap to achieve global ranking as well as research and innovation, it added.

  • The registration fee for the conference includes payment towards a conference kit (comprising summaries of all papers presented at the Conference, a CD of the papers presented at the Conference, a Conference bag, stationery etc.) and meals during the conference. Due to financial constraints, it would not be possible for the organisers to meet the travel costs of all the paper presenters but modest accommodation will be arranged for some limited conference participants. For some select participants and resource persons, who are either superannuated or cannot manage their travel costs from their own institutions, the Association will make efforts to meet their travel costs.

The Twelfth Biennial Conference on Entrepreneurship testifies to the institute's pursuit of excellence and clear contribution to entrepreneurship education, training, research and institution building within India and internationally. Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) derives much satisfaction in assisting and building entrepreneurship development institutes in countries namely, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam. Based on the successful establishment of these institutes, EDII has been further assigned by Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India to help build and mentor entrepreneurship development institutes in five countries of the African Region and Uzbekistan.

As India's preeminent institute of entrepreneurship education and research, EDII invites researchers, educators and practitioners in the field of entrepreneurship to participate in and contribute to the Twelfth Biennial Conference on Entrepreneurship to be held during February 22-24, 2017 at EDII, Ahmedabad.

In keeping with eleven biennial conferences over the past 22 years, the Twelfth Biennial Conference onEntrepreneurship continues to be an established forum for researchers, educators and practitioners to share their ideas and research results with other researchers and thinkers in the field, exchange feedback and hone their own research pursuits. Submission deadline:
  • An Abstract (about 200 words) should be submitted through email by November 18, 2016.
  • An electronic version (MS Word) of the full paper should be submitted by December 16, 2016. Full papers (less than 4000 words, typed double space) must adhere to formatting and referencing guidelines of academic/ professional journals.
  • Acceptance decisions on papers will be made by January 6, 2017.
REGISTRATION: 
  • A fee of Rs. 2,500/- (US$ 75 for international delegates) is payable by authors and delegates. The fee includes conference kit, conference proceedings and on-campus room & board for three days, Fee is to be paid before January 31, 2017 through EDII payment gateway.
  • Registration fee may be waived for Ph.D./FPM scholars, not in employment, and not supported by their institutes/universities.
Silver Jubilee Celebration of The Journal of Entrepreneurship
The Journal of Entrepreneurship will be completing 25 years of its publication by the end of 2016. EDII will be scheduling a special session to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the JoE's journey.

KERALA TO HOST COUNTRY'S FIRST GLOBAL CONFERENCE ON GENDER EQUALITY

In a bid to reduce gender inequality in India and increase female work participation rates, the Kerala government is set to host country's first global conference on gender equality from November 12-14.With a core theme of “Gender, Governance and Inclusion“ the conference is set to discuss issues ranging from citizenship, globalisation, work, governance, health, education, disability and the role of media.
“The theme of the conference focuses on the urgent need for a transformative agenda to move towards greater inclusion and gender equality,“ Mridul Eapen, Honorary Professor, Centre for Development Studies said.
The three-day summit at Kovalam titled `International Conference on Gender Equality' is being organised by the Gender Park, an institution under the Kerala Government. “There are pressing gender equity issues that need to be addressed and I am certain this conference will provide the ideal platform for just that,“ PTM Sunish, CEO, The Gender Park said.
